Facts
More than ten million species remain to be discovered in the world; most of them highly threatened since they are located within regions of great habitat destruction. Amongst the 46,000 species assessed, more 17,000 are likely to become extinct in the very near future if no aggressive actions are taken. At the mean time, their natural pristine ecosystems and associated native indigenous people are vanishing at an alarming rate.
Plants and animals are part of our unique heritage, they keep us alive, purifying water, fixing nitrogen, recycling nutrients and waste, and pollinating crops. They are vital for the physical and spiritual well-being offering us a colorful and rich world.
